Autumn nights

Hello! Well, I'm back and I've pretty much got on top of my evergrowing pile of assessments. Oh, and I've found a new fashion obsession...comfort. Yes, that's it. It may possibly be due to the fact that I'm super busy and it's much easier to get through a stressful day in the most comfiest, slouchiest jumper I can find. Add full-length tights, flats and a super long necklace (and possibly a beret on cooler days) and I have an outfit which is most acceptable to leave the house in.
Here are some photos from the weekend of me and my friend Amber (left) wearing our most comfy jumpers (and glasses without the lenses....)
Please excuse the fact that it's rare for me to put on a normal face for photos.

Have a lovely day/night! xo

Super busy week!

Wow, I haven't posted in a while! I've been sooo busy with my childcare course - there's so many assignments it's ridiculous!

I'm quite possibly going shopping on the weekend, so I'll try my best to update when I get back! But for now, I'm most likely going to be away for a few days working on my assignments, studying to get my license and hopefully finding a job. So, until then, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week! xo

Vintage Coats

Browsing through vintage coats on Ebay. These are my top picks. Part of that reason, the majority of the coats were real fur. I don't support fur at all! And, despite my love for leather shoes, I will always seek a faux leather where possible.

Anyway, onto the coats!

I am in love with leopard print coats! Although I adore oversized coats, this gorgeous piece will have to do!

This faux fur coat - I'm still trying to figure out the colour. My eyes tend to confuse light greys and light blues, so I'll leave that up to you to decide - looks incredibly cozy! I definitely want a coat like this in my autumn/winter wardrobe.

The grey button up coat is adorable. Enough said!

And finally, the lovely mustard coat. Currently, I am in love with the colour mustard. I'm not quite sure why, but ever since I got my mustard beret from Forever 21, I have fallen quite deeply in love with it. I'm not quite thrilled with the length of this coat, partly because I'm not exactly tall and I'd make myself look about a foot or so shorter, but I am in love with the rest of the design/colour of this coat!

Also on my must-have coat list?

  • Pea coat
  • Trench coat
  • Edwardian inspired coat - I saw one on an online store quite a while ago but I'm not sure what the site was. >.<

Glamour Dirt

Topshop dress

Forever 21 heels
Forever 21 clutch

Forever 21 chandelier earrings

The Oscars have finally arrived! So, in true Oscar spirit, I've decided to embrace a little glamour - Fashion Dirt style. Of course, you could swap the shoes for something a little sparkly or shiny and the clutch for something that matches your sparkly, shiny shoes, but my take on glamour - well, yes, there's the pretty dress and the sparkly chandelier earrings but I prefer to keep the shoes a little less glitzy and the clutch a little more lacy.

Anyway, I hope you all have a very glamorous day and enjoy the Oscars (if you're watching of course!)

Take a walk on the dark side

cuff, ebay; everything else, forever 21

If you didn't already know, I'm a HUGE fan of studs, spikes, zips and lace! And what a perfect way to combine each and every one of my loves into a single outfit! Try tough meets glam with a few studs here and a little lace there or a simple white singlet and black jeans combo with tough boots and a cuff similar to the one above. You could even add interest to an outfit with a beautiful, top hat fascinator! Fashion should be fun and creative, so don't ever be afraid to try new things!

DIY: Over the Knee Socks

DIY socks; shoes, Lipstik

The first day of autumn [in Australia] brought cold weather and rain. The perfect excuse to stay inside and start a DIY project. Today's project? Over the knee socks. While it was a quick and easy project, I was fairly happy with the results! Next time, I'll attempt a pair with chains, ladders and/or studs!

DIY Socks
You will need:
A pair of stockings
Two pieces of ribbon (long enough to fit around you leg + tie a bow)
Scissors

Instructions:
Cut legs off stockings (measure before you cut to make sure they're the length you want them. Cut vertical slits, about half a centimetre long as close to the top of the socks as possible. Thread ribbon through the slits. Tie ends of ribbon in a bow on the outer side of the socks (tight enough to make sure the socks don't slip down!).

What do you think? - Underwear as Outerwear

With Lady Gaga popularizing the no-pants look and fashion-forward women putting away their more conservative tops in favour of corsets and bustiers, it's obvious underwear is the new outerwear. But what do you think of the underwear as outerwear trend? Would you try it? xo
